The Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters
This marks the second nomination within the Top 10 for The Bitter Truth, after the glorious victory at the 2010 Spirited Awards, were The Bitter Truth Celery Bitters took home the top prize. We are looking forward to see this years winner and send our congratulations to all nominees.
Following the great success of The Bitter Truth Celery Bitters, we were working on expanding our portfolio to savory flavors in cocktails & drinks for a few years now. Cucumber has a very delicate flavor, but the downside is that cucumber consists mainly of water and very little flavor. Further to that the fragile notes one can find in freshly cut cucumber will change quickly and the delicate top notes are hard to capture.
Saying so, we decided to mash the freshest cucumber available and then distill the mash to form a stable base which is then blended with a delicate selection of herbs and spices to create memories of the english countryside, summertime and light spirits. Already thirsty? The Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters are first available in the USA – for all other markets from july/august 2015 on.
30 ml (1 oz) The Bitter Truth Pink Gin
30 ml (1 oz) The Bitter Truth Elderflower Liqueur
2 dashes The Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain off into a chilled cocktail glass and enjoy.
Excellent news just came in from Chicago where the International Packaging Competition was held late in 2014 and results were just announced. Drum roll…Platinum Medal in Creativity Category, Platinum Medal in Grafic Design Category, Platinum Medal in Form Category and overall Best Gift Box Award for our top selling Bitters Traveler`s Set!
The idea for the Bitter Truth`s Bitters Travelers Set was born when we were flying around more often and had limited choice when we wanted to have a decent drink during our travels. As airlines provide 50ml bottles of a number of main spirits, various filler and ice, airline security is still strict and our regular 200ml simply wouldn`t do. Count 1 and 1 together and the idea was born. Since then the concept has been copied by many (thanks for the compliments).
A solid embossed metal tin with great artwork reflecting the various transportation options holding 5 x 20ml of Aromatic Bitters, Orange Bitters, Jerry Thomas Bitters, Creole Bitters and of course our Original Celery Bitters. Plenty of options to spice up your drinks when traveling!
We are very happy to announce that The Bitter Truth did very well and was crowned with 2 (two!!!) awards for Bartenders Best Bitters 2014 for The Bitter Truth Creole Bitters and for Bartenders Best Liqueur 2014 for The Bitter Truth Golden Falernum at the awards ceremony held in NOLA Bar London last monday. THE AMERICAN BAR AT THE SAVOY LAUNCHES BESPOKE, LIMITED EDITION ‘SAVOY MARTINI BITTERS’
The next installment of The Savoy Collection is a limited edition ‘Savoy Martini Bitters’ created in collaboration with The Bitter Truth Range of Bitters and Liqueurs. 250 bottles of ‘Savoy Martini Bitters’ have been produced for sale and to be used in the Martini Cocktail, one of the American Bar’s most popular drinks. The Bitters will also be incorporated into a number of other cocktails featured on a special Anniversary Menu in the American Bar, which launches this week in celebration of The Savoy’s 125th Anniversary on 6 August 2014.
‘Savoy Martini Bitters’ comes in a 200ml bottle and has been created as a bold partner to the Dry Martini Cocktail, using either gin or vodka. As with all The Bitter Truth products, the Bitters have been made with natural ingredients only. Bitter and sweet oranges, lemon, sage, rhubarb and lemon verbena, all backed by gentian and a light touch of angostura bark, all feature in the product.
The Bitters are released as part of The Savoy Collection, one of the most prestigious and unique collections of one-of-a-kind spirits and liquids, launched by The Savoy in 2013. The Collection so far includes a 21-year-old Macallan, The Manhattan Cocktail, a 17-year-old Laphroaig, Demerara Rum from Guyana 1975, and the soon to be released 125th Anniversary Decanter filled with one of the rarest Speyside whiskies available today. The Savoy Collection: Savoy Martini Bitters is available to purchase in Savoy Tea, priced from £35.
