Old-Fashioned with Creole Bitters
Recipe courtesy of Rocky Yeh of NWVivant.
- 2 oz Vintage Rye, Rittenhouse 100 will be just fine, and Thomas Handy would rock
- 4 dashes of Bitter Truth Creole Bitters
- 1 barspoon rich simple syrup
- 2 lemon twists
Pulverize one lemon twist lightly in the bottom of your mixing glass and discard, add ice, and rye, simple, and bitters. Stir, pour, garnish with the other twist. Lean back and enjoy, a lot.
A play on the Old Fashioned by Brian Miller at Death and Company, 2007. It’s one of those drinks that evolves as the ice slowly melts into the cocktail.
