New England Daiquiri

A modification of a classic cocktail created by Joaquin Simo of Death & Company in NYC.

New England Daiquiri

  • 2 oz Ron Zacapa 23 year old Rum
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 dash Chocolate Bitters

Shake and serve up in a cocktail glass.

Old Fashioned Cocktail

Old Fashioned Cocktail

50 ml (2 oz) Whisk(e)y, Brandy, Aged Rum or AƱejo Tequila

10 ml (1/3 oz) Sugar Syrup (or 1 Sugar Cube)

2 dashes The Bitter Truth – Bitters

Orange Zest

Pour all ingredients in a tumbler & stir till it has the right dilution.

  • 1 1/2 oz rhum agricole blanc (Saint Etienne)
  • 3/4 oz dry sherry (Barbadillo Manzanilla)
  • 3/4 oz apricot brandy (Rothman and Winter)
  • 2 dashes celery bitters (Bitter Truth)

Stir, strain, up. Lemon twist.

The Latin Quarter

  • 2 oz Ron Zacapa 23 year old Rum
  • 1/2 Bar Spoon Sugar Cane Syrup
  • 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Dash Chocolate Bitters
  • 3 Dashes Peychaud Bitters
  • Lemon Twist
  • Rinse: Absinthe, Herbsaint, or Ricard

Fill a double old fashioned glass with ice and a small amount of Absinthe, Herbsaint or Ricard. Stir the rum, sugar cane syrup and bitters in an ice-filled shaker glass.

Dump the ice from the old fashioned glass and rotate the glass to ensure that the rinse coats the entire inside of the glass. Strain into the glass. Twist lemon peel over the glass and discard.

This cocktail was created by Ken Walker of Dos Hermanos for The Bitter Truth Cocktail Competition in Bristol, UK.

  • 60 ml Ron Barcelo Gran Anejo
  • 12 ml Home-smoked Maple Syrup
  • 7 drops The Bitter Truth Orange Bitters

Glass: Hi Ball
Serve: Muddle, then stir
Garnish: Orange Zest

50 ml (2 oz) White Rum, Gin, Vodka, Blanco Tequila or Pisco

20 ml (3/4 oz) The Bitter Truth – Violet Liqueur

20 ml (3/4 oz) Lime Juice

10 ml (1/3 oz) Sugar Syrup

Mint Leaves

Muddle mint with rum. Add other ingredients (except

violet liqueur), ice and stir. Float with violet liqueur and

garnish with mint sprig.

20 ml (3/4 oz) fresh Lime Juice

2 dashes The Bitter Trutht – Jerry Thomas Bitters

1 Eggwhite

1 tsp white Sugar

Stir and serve straight up with a lime twist.
